2008 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS AND INTERNATIONAL TRAINING SESSIONS
The most famous word to come out of this great and historic event was simply "AWESOME"
and indeed it was. Well over 1000 people attended from 26 countries, a truly memorable gathering of the most senior Black Belts ever to attend a weekend of Martial Arts.
We had 112 different training sessions and 3 lectures from the top ranks around the world of Kenpo - 650 trophies and medals were presented and 4 Grand Champion Trophies.
Full coverage was made by SKY SPORTS and local Jersey Media.
An amazing 11 different zones / rings working all at the same time and each with an official team of 25 people.
Over 1400 photographs were taken by our Official Photographer.
The opening ceremony was spectacular, performed before his Excellency the Lieutenant Governor of Jersey Lieutenant General Andrew Ridgway and the President of Education, Sport and Culture Senator Mike Vibert.
An amazing display of 26 countries flags and boards followed by a special display from Jersey's own Grand Junior Champion Emma Crossley (3 times World Champion) to be followed by a spectacular demonstration from the amazing demonstration team from Delaware USA - Kathy Owen's team.
